Richard Phillipart


Starting in hairdressing aged 13, Richard was instantly hooked on the industry. Spending any free time he could in the salon watching and learning, he quickly gained his qualifications and excelled – producing his own artisan hair show aged just 16.  However, by the age of 22 Richard felt constrained and wanted the opportunity to grow and advance his career, and he decided to move on.  Richard opened The Boutique aged just 22 with one idea in mind, to create the type of salon he wanted to work in – where the craft of hairdressing is always put first, skills and passion are developed and championed, and clients can be sure they always receive the very best the industry has to offer. Richard has a talented team of 21 multi-award-winning hairdressers. Richard is one of the UK’s most in-demand stylists, with his skills being called upon by some of the world’s largest brands in luxury haircare. He writes, educates and instructs worldwide at academies from Canada to Dubai. His biggest passion within hairdressing is education, not only for his own team and students but also for himself as he constantly keeps up-to-date with the very latest cutting and styling techniques, spending time studying regularly at Vidal Sassoon in London. He has also studied at the prestigious Central St. Martins University of Fashion in London. Richard’s passion for hairdressing has seen him amass a cult fashion following with runways and fashion shoots where he is internationally in demand to design hairstyles for luxury brands. Richard works backstage at all the major fashion weeks across the world, including New York, London, Milan and Paris. He has styled hair for brands including Chanel, Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood, Burberry, Dior, Kenzo, Chloe and many many more.  Richard has styled the hair for advertising campaigns for fashion brands such as Erdem & ZARA of which featured on the ZARA websites across the world and in over 2000 stores in 96 countries. Regularly in demand for photoshoots in Vogue, ELLE and many other high fashion magazines. Richard spends a few days each week shooting editorials in London as well as taking private clients at The Boutique Atelier. In 2022, Richard received the highest accolade a hairdresser can receive when he was asked to attend the final awards dinner of a hugely popular Hairstyling industry competition. Richard introduced his surrealist hair show “Cabinet of Curiosities” to the industry, making him the youngest independent salon owner in the pageant’s 68-year history to receive this honor. An audience of 1900 hairdressers frequent his shop window to admire the hair sculptures created by Richard. From 2023 Richard is Global Brand Ambassador and Art Director of MY.ORGANICS The hairstylist was nominated for four of Salon Business magazine’s annual industry competitions this year. Richard chose MY.ORGANICS to create spectacular and innovative hairstyles for the show, demonstrating our attention to quality and innovation that characterizes our brand. His talent and our products have created a perfect mix to achieve extraordinary results on the catwalk of this edition of London Fashion Week. The collaboration’s debut took place during the 2023 edition of COSMOPROF WORLDWIDE BOLOGNA. Richard, together with MY.TEAM ACADEMY, brought to the ON HAIR stage a show full of professionalism, elegance, style and sophistication, telling the story of MY.ORGANICS through fabulous hairstyles. A journey through the origins of the brand deeply rooted in the fascinating Venice. In recent months, MY.ORGANICS products have accompanied Richard in every work he does around the world: ELLE UK Richard created the hairstyles of the latest ELLE UK shooting models using MY.ORGANICS styling products EUROVISION 2023 Singer Kelli Leigh’s blonde hair was styled by Richard Phillipart with MY.ORGANICS products for her performance on stage at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. MEREDITH MICKELSON The hairstyles and folds of the beautiful model Meredith Mickelson during her latest shootings for various international fashion brands were created with MY.ORGANICS products by Richard.
